Hi there, We are travelling to Thailand January 21st and have only 2 weeks. What I would like to do is to stay the first night in BKK, then leave for Kachanaburi for 2 or 3 nights, then travel on to Kao Sok Natunal Park for 3 days (3 day Tour?) and then on to some quiet Island where my boyfriend can do some diving and myself some snorkling. We are both more nature then disco lovers and would love a nice place on the beach. I have been reading about Racha Yai Island.
- Can this be done in this short period?
- What's the best way to travel to Khao Sok N.P. from Kachanaburi
- How much time in advance should I book a room at Racha Yai
Any advice or alternative plans are welcome
tthx

Hi ltoren,
Welcome to Travelfish!
Yes you could cover all that in two weeks. From Kanchanaburi there will probably be private minibuses heading from guesthouses to the Park -- I don't normally recommend the private operators as theft and comfort can be issues on them, but if you're in a hurry... Otherwise you need to go back to Bangkok then bus/train to Surat Thani and then a bus from there to the national park.
For a stay in January, I'd book Racha as soon as you know you're going for sure.
Hope that helps

Thanks Somtam, this surely helps. I've been reading around the forum a lot now, this whole forum helps, since a lot of my questions were answered by reading earlier posts from other folks!
