Following up on the above, more quotes (again courtesy AFP)
"The checkpoints between Thailand and Myanmar have been closed," Lieutenant Colonel Surin Saengkum, a senior border official in northern Thailand, told AFP.
Immigration officials confirmed that the border with Laos was also sealed.
"We don't want anyone to take advantage of the situation and slip into Thailand," Surin said.

I ahve a ticket booked for Udon Thani tomorrow with the intention of crossing the Friendship Bridge into Laos. I guess this means I am not getting into Laos that way. Anyone no where to find updates on border openings and closings.

How about if you travel by air within the countries next door? E.g Cambodia/Vietnam?
Some airlines cancelled their flights to BKK, despite the fact that Airport still open. Damn...

I just crossed the Friendship bridge into Laos this morning and there was absolutely no problem. The border is open and it is business as usual.
