Has anyone had an oppurtunity to review the LP Thailand 13th Edition.
I have to get a guide book in the next few days and was wondering if any one had checked it out yet.
Thanks Dan

Pretty much each one is the same as the last.

I bought the LP (13th edition) couple a month ago as well as the Rough Guide. Had no experience whatsoever with either one, but must say the RG already is my favorite and is the only one we take on our trip.

I'be bought many LP guides before, but the Rough Guides for me are much better. I have both, LP and RG for Thailand, since I'll be getting there this upcoming February. RG without a doubt!!!!

LP is much better for the north, Nan Provence for example.
Rough Guide to the Islands and Beaches is the best for the beaches.

Leaving Jan. 11 for Thailand for two months and had to buy a guide...the library had Lonely Planet SE Asia and it looked like it didn't have as many budget selections as the 5 yr old Rough Guide I used last year...so just bought Rough Guide 2009 and am happy with the choice. Last year in Thailand though, I'd say 80% had Lonely Planet.

Thanks for the replies...one of Santa's elves bought me LP 13th edition as a late xmas present. So Lonely Planet it is with some help from Travelfish.
Thanks Dan
