Does anyone know whether the Comfort Inn in Patong still exists?? Maybe it has changed its name. Apparently its quite a good location and just a little out of the "thick of things", but still a great location. I'm looking for somewhere around $50 - 70 a night (A$) and have 2 small children to accommodate in the same room also. Looking for somewhere where kids under 12 are free of charge.
Looking at either Patong or Kata. Any ideas would be welcome.
I'm not familiar with the Comfort Inn, though that's certainly not to mean it doesn't exist anymore. Have you taken a look at the Phuket section on Travelfish? There's detailed listings for Patong and Kata there. I'd lean towards Kata over Patong anyday, though you do see lots of families in Patong too.
One more note, I remember our researcher raving about Swiss Palm Beach on Patong -- apparently well geared up for families, though it's at the upper end of your pricerange -- depending on when you're going

Hi Paulascott,
