I am going to be in Phuket from Nov 30th -5th Dec and fancy trying something like Thai Cooking or Yoga something locally cultural. I feel it really important to take something back of the essence of each place you travel to. Any suggestions - the only place I have found is the Layan Phuket but has poor reviews on Tripadvisor. The Travelfish recommended one Laylina looks good but are there activities nearby?
Many thanks and a shout to this site - really useful and right up my alley.

Laylina is a pretty smart spot, but the biggest activity there is, well, umm, laying on the beach! Patong isn't far from there, and you'd have no trouble picking up a cooking class there...
I've got a backlog of stuff to go onto the site for Phuket, so give me a day or so and I'll see what I can dig up.
