would love some advice. if im travelling by bus from surat thani and want to travel to both krabi and phuket. is it better (time and $) to go to krabi first then to phuket and fly back to bangkok from phuket or vice versa and go to phuket first and then krabi and fly out from there. Peoples advice would be greatly appreciated

why do you fly-if$ is a topic? i would bus to krabi first-not far from surat-then down to phuket and back to bkk by a vip 24 nightbus.these buses are way comfy,they even stop for a decent meal-payed by your ticket-and you need no accomodation for this night.
