Hi, I have just booked accommodation at the Divers Inn at Karon Beach. Just wondering if anyone knows if there are cheap eats like food stalls etc in this area. We like to eat cheap local food. (and hate being ripped off)!
Just for anyone else that's travelling. I have done alot of research and found a little budget place 20 metres from beach and 5 mtrs to swimming Pool - Kata Villa. Unfortunately, it is booked out when we require it. But looks great. It's the sister property to Divers Inn, which is quite budget. Just wish I had have found it earlier, due to the location and price & swimming pool. http://www.katavilla.com.

In Kata town, if you walk down the main strip, going away from the beach, the further you go the more there is for food and snacks. I can't remember many street stalls, but there's probably a few. If you're happy to eat in average lookin restaurants then the food is very affordable. Tink being ripped off on food is mainly a probelm in Patong.

There are quite a few seafood restaurants in Karon on the road as you walk away from the beach, they all look quite similar, but they're quite reasonably prices and serve ok food. Stay away from the restaurants along the beach road towards Kata beach, they look really expensive.
