we have spent a week at ChiangMaan residence february 2007. reservation via e-mail was easy and quickly aswered. upon arrival, we were shown around the whole place and given the biggest room :o) also we learnt, that the location is not in the trouble of noisy downtown, but still within the oldtown, a short walk from everything needed- just perfect! also right next to the very beautiful Wat Chiang Maan, which is especially stunning at dawn.
ChiangMaan residence is very beautiful and calm; the atmosphere is wonderful, one really finds peace here. free coffee and tea for guests is offered and a good choice for thirsty souls. the building is a combination of traditional and modern, every detail is in its place- a pardise for the eyes!! a lot of plants and many different "corners" to sit down and chat, read, write or just be. the rooms are nicely decorated and furnished by Nalinee and she also designed the whole building since she's an architect.
last but not least, we felt like being at home away from home. friendly, lovely, beautiful people; always there for any kind of questions. we absolutely LOVE this place and its owners and would go back anytime.
If you visit ChiangMai and are looking for a quiet spot close to the center, a green oasis for your soul, a hot shower in a beautiful room at a superb price, warm hearted people: dont go past ChiangMaan residence, because i dont think there can be a better choice!
