If you have not visited Cha-am yet, I would suggest it over Hua Hin of Pattaya if you want an inexpensive, relaxed and more family friendly environment. It is really nice here with a long white sand beach at your doorstep. We are staying at the Hotel California here in Cha-am and had a wonderful time as the rooms are very cheap and very clean, would really expect to be paying more, but glad we got a large room with balcony for only 400 baht as we stayed for 2 months and got a monthly rate. The staff is great and funny, always ready to help and always keeping things clean, enjoyed and would recomend! They have a website at hotelcaliforniachaam if interested.
