This hotel looks like a modern teak palace from the outside (slightly cheesy) but once inside it is a thoroughly modern and expensive looking hotel. The prices however, are at lowly guesthouse rates.

For 690 baht, you get a stylish room with a huge bed, plump pillows, tv, fridge and bathroom. For 890 baht, you get a patio looking onto the huge lagoon swimming pool.

We also tried out the spa center. the relax package consisted of a body masque/scrub, herbal sauna and hour long oil massage. Excellent value and truly relaxing.

It's out of town, but with a Tesco and a bunch of eating places along the road, 100 islands makes a night in Surat Thani great for some R&R.
