Description:
Thai Eco Lodge on Ko Ra (sometimes spelled Koh Rah) is off of Khuraburi in Pang Gna, on the Andaman side of the Thai peninsula, just north of Koh Pra Thong. Often described as one of the most remote destinations in Thailand, it is also one of the most un-touched, pristine nature habitats you can imagine.
On and between its primary jungle and hills, its mangrove estuary on the mainland side, and its sandy ocean-side beaches, Koh Rah offers a stupendous assortment of plants, birds and small animals. It is no accident that scientists regularly choose to stay on the island for extended periods. There is a great deal to observe, record, and just enjoy.
The Koh Rah Eco Lodge (http://thaiecolodge) has been designed and built for low-impact and harmonious co-existence with the island and its flora and fauna residents. Still, if you love to be outdoors, there is no place like it for kayaking, skin and scuba diving (Similans are nearer to Koh Rah than any other place you can stay) and, of course, bird watching.
What's more, you'll find that the people there share your love of nature and comradery with fellow naturalists, ecologists, backpackers and outdoor-sports enthusiasts. The atmosphere is relaxed, cooperative and just plain friendly. You'll feel at home if nature is your thing. What's more, the food is local and just great. Come visit soon. The lodge closes in the rainy season. Check out the Web site (http://thaiecolodge.com) and feel free to ask questions. Call Awe or Lory at +66 (0) 89-867-5288 and/or e-mail info@thaiecolodge.com.
