Our daughter recently moved to the Sukhumvit/ThongLo area in Bangkok. We are looking for accommodation close by - a 1 bedroom with a pool in the 25000-40000B per month range. Does anyone have any suggestions. We have thought about House by the Pond and Belleville apartments but seem to read very mixed reviews about them. Can't seem to get a clear idea of how far these places are from the sky train. We're not going till the end of November - are we looking too soon? Thanks.

House By the Pond is fine, it's a good ten minute walk from the Skytrain -- we lived there for our first year in Bangkok. The pool in on the roof of one of the buildings and is ok. Can't vouch for Belleville though.

Also suggest you check how far up Thong Lo your daughter is -- it is a lonnnnggggg road!

Thanks for your response. Had our daughter go check out HBTP and although she gave it a decent report she also said there is construction going on so it's very noisy. Also her Husband expressed some concern about a park we'd be walking by/through every evening. Guess we're going to still try to find something closer to the Sukhumvit/Thong Lo area. She's about 2/3 the way up Thong Lo. Are you aware of anything in that area?

The only place I know on that stretch of Sukhumvit that does short term rentals online is Centrepoint -- but I think it's a bit above your budget (around 50-60,000/month).

There's a few smaller apartments buildings near PlayGround (your daughter should know where that is) which may be worth a try, though I'm not sure of the rent.

Sorry can't be more help
