Hi,

I am going to travel around SE Asia from the end of january 2011 for about 3 months before heading to New Zealand/ Oz to work and do more travel.

Im going alone and im sure ill meet loads of people along the way but I would love to see if anyone is interested in meeting and joining me on some of my travels.

the initial plan is to start in bangkok and do thailand and then make my way to cambodia, vietnam, laos(possibly hong kong to see a friend) then on to Malasia and Indonesia before NZ and OZ.

Nothing is set in stone so im open to other route suggestions too.

Sure, I'd be interested in meeting up. I've never traveled alone before but I am planning a 6 month solo trip through SE Asia. Sounds like we have opposite schedules - I will be in Indonesia & Malaysia in late 2010 and then Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, an Laos in early 2011. I'll probably be making it back to HK for chinese new year.

Hi Yipe,

I'm in San Francisco (Castro), heading for SEA early January through mid March 2011. Care to meet up and share plans? This is my second trip (went for 2 months early 2008). Loved it, have the SEA bug now. This time I'll motorcycle for a couple weeks in North Vietnam (guided) and 1 week north Thailand (solo). Then off to a beach, then Bali. Or something like that. BTW, I LOVED Hong Kong. Seems everyone gives their age/gender here, so "45 year old French-American female".

Hey

Im going to be in Bangkok around mid Jan. From there I will be traveling through Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and then finally back Thailand. Planned around 3month to do the whole of that then Im scooting off to Oz for as long as I can manage.

Hello there I will be doing a bit of traveling in the same areas as you and roughely the same time frame.
I havent set anything up yet really, just thinking of where I want to go so far.
I will do a little bit in early January though, and then after the end of January im free to go where I wish.
Im 29 and will be just out trekking out on my own looking to make some good friends and see
some great sights.

Would love to meet up. Plan on going to SEA in Feb 2010 for a couple of months and plan on visiting Thailand, Cambodia, Laos... etc. Plan on seeing a bunch of great places and meeting new people!

Hey guys,

I'll be landing in Thailand on the 19th of Dec. and staying in SEA until April maybe (don't have return ticket). Would love to meet up and hang out. Don't have any definite plans, but am buying a motorbike in Vietnam after I've seen some of Thailand and cruising through as many countries as I can before I sell it and take to the buses, boats and trains. I'm 35, male and I'm traveling solo, but good company is always welcome!

Im a 28 year old scottish female. Im also travelling alone and have similar plan.

I arrive in bangkok 18th Jan and plan to travel 6-8 weeks before heading to Oz.

Im an Irish bloke 24, I was thinking of heading to thailand at the end of Jan, not so much to Travel but I will be training in a thaiboxing gym for at least a month in each place I go to - if I move, if not it will be the same place for a few months . At the moment I am thinking Phuket as I was there before. Do you have a travel plan as of yet? Have you budgeted for accommodation etc? What did you have in mind.

Anybody going to vietnam on the 1st week of march? i am doing it from north to south if you were thinking of travelling around that area but I am flexible... I was also looking at vespa organized tours...
At the moment I am going solo. How exciting!. Last year I did it in Thailand with a friend but this year everybody is busy, boyfiends, or no money / time...

hey guys,

so sorry havent been on this in ages.

Im in Pai now for a couole of days and then im making my way into Laos. Will more than likely be in Luang Prabang on the 3rd feb, ill be in Laos until the 11th Feb.

I have already booked my flight from Vientiane to Hanoi as I heard they were booking out fast and didnt want to chance the 36 hour bus journey

im heading south from Hanoi.

Let me know if any of you are around and in them places on them dates

Hi! I'm 24yo gal from Australia, flying into Hanoi 27/2. Would be very keen to catch up with other travellers, especially if keen to head south through Vietnam during March.... I have no plans at this stage really!

Hi Emily01. I will be flying to Hanoi on 26/2 and also plan on travelling south in Vietnam. Right now, my plans are to go to Halong Bay and Sapa during the first week, Hue and Hoi An the 2nd week, and HCMC and the Mekong Delta for the third week. If these plans interest you, give me a shout. I will be traveling with a friend for the first week and in the last week of March. This is my first backpacking trip and I am a 29 female from Canada. Will be touring SEA for about 3 months until June and hope to meet other travellers and friends along the way!

Hey Emily01, I have a couple of tours booked for the first week, mainly Halong Bay with Vega Travel (2 days, 1 night) and then doing the Fansipan trek and some hiking/local markets for 5 days in Sapa with the Sapa sisters (local tour group). From there, I've left it open-ended but will be making my way down to Hue and Hoi An. Hay- I'm from the UK and been living in New Zealand for the last 2 years - heading home through SE Asia. Got a tour planned Bangkok - Cambodia - Vietnam then back to Bangkok for what ever I wanna do. Be cool to meet some people along the way too

ps you'll love NZ it's the most awesome country - I don't want to leave
