Hi Guys,
Im a 26 year old male from Ireland embarking on a wonderful adventure to the following places that hopefully some of you are doing too! I'm new to the whole backpackers scene am planning 7weeks or so in the above countries. I'm up for a laugh, visiting and exploring great sights and doing as many outdoor activities as possible! Ive a rough route planned - flying into Bangkok on March 20th (departing Singapore May 10th) then amid some exploring travelling to Chiang Mai, Luang Prabang and other hotspots based on this rough route;

If anyone has a similar route planned or is about around then feel free to let me know!
Cheers,
Gav

Hi Gav,
Similarly to you I too am a newbie to the travelling scene! I will be arriving in Bankok on the 5th April, have no plans of where to go as of yet so fairly flexible to meet. If you are around BKK early April I would be happy to meet up!
Take care,
Matt

I have been traveling the region for about a month and a half now and was in Thailand for two months last year. I am currently in Vietnam and will be traveling through Laos around April 5th and into Thailand around April 11th.

I plan on being in Chiang Mai for Songkran (which you should consider, an awesome holiday in all of Thailand). If you are in the area let me know, it was one of my favorite places that I was able to visit last year

Hi to the three of you guys.
I am a 33 year old male, and am also new to the travelling world, I plan to be in Thailand during April, I get to Singapore on Sunday 18th March, then going to the Malaysian Grand Prix, then heading up through Thailand (especially for their new year celebrations 13th-15th April).
I am also planning on seeing Cambodia and Vietnam as well (and possibly Laos)
It would be good to meet some fellow travellers, so drop me a mail if your interested chrisallen2102@gmail.com
Cheers
Chris

Hi Gav,
Got a bunch of Travelfishers in Chiang Mai right now, we should be here for a week or so before heading to Pai and then over to Laos. Depending on how long you're intending on staying in Bangkok our timing may align so that you're able to meet up with us for at least one night of good fun?
Let me know, we just arrived in Chiang Mai today and are booked in for 6 days at least before heading to Pai.
Cheers.

Hi, just adding my bit. The timing might be just a bit off but I will be arriving in Bangkok on 11th April for Songkran before going to Chiang Mai and into Laos around the loop. if anyone's around in that time be cool to meet up. I'm on Facebook here:

I see a lot of people are in Chiang Mai for Songkran, is this generally regarded the better place to be for the festival?
Cheers
Si

I think Chiang Mai is the place to be. But the whole country celebrates so it depends on your personal tastes. I have good friends in the north, that is why I will be celebrating it there.
