Hi guys/girls
Undertaking my very first trip to SE Asia (at the ripe old age of 27) at the beginning of July from England. Looking at booking my ticket for around the 1st of July and heading back in time for uni in mid/late August. I literally have no plan or specific route but will more than likely be heading to Bangkok from a London airport as it's the cheapest return ticket that i've found. I'm just going to get myself there and make it up as I go.
Anybody fancy meeting up or just general chat I'm more than happy to get to know new folk, as it kinda is the idea of the trip.

I am going to Cambodia for 4 weeks for research and then thinking about Malaysia or whatever comes up for the last 10-14 days or so, which would be in the beginning of July...I'm 27 and have traveled some and ready to travel CHEAP and see everything with the time I've got there. Maybe we could just meet up somewhere on the whim in the start of your trip! Let me know if you got some ideas, but yea maybe Its time we both get maps and a travel book...Hope ya have a great trip and good luck.

I'm going to be travelling alone too. I'm doing a tour that finishes up in Singapore on the 13th and after that, like you, I don't have much of a plan. I really wanna go to Laos/Cambodia/Vietnam so it might be an idea to keep in touch, could be cool to meet up.

same boat as you guys, no plans either, starting late July for a few months. Travelled for 3 months in 2010 and cant stay away!

Me! I am going solo also. Fly into Bangkok on 28th June and back out again 9th August (to Melbourne - woo). I'm hoping to fit in Thailand/Laos/Cambodia/Vietnam in the 6 weeks - possibly a little over ambitious...
I have zero plans bar flight dates and 1st 2 nights accommodation (in Bangkok, mainly to get over any jetlag).
Fee.

It's great to hear so many people are going solo; plenty in the same boat as me! So my tickets are booked for the 21st June, flying from Manchester to Bangkok, and returning on the 10th August. I will definitely looking to meet up with potential drinking buddies, no one likes to drink alone!

John I am literally a week behind you - flying from Manc to Bangkok on 27th. Leaving SEA about the same time too.

I'll be in Bangkok between 21st to 24th May and have no plans yet. Can travel anywhere close by like Koh Samet, Hua Hin or Kanchanaburi. Would be nice to have a travel buddy to go around with.

Sounds good! Where in Cambodia you thinking of going? Or is it a case of finding somewhere and moving on when you're fed up?

Hey everyone, I'm planning to be in Bangkok by 25/26th of July. I'm traveling solo until august 28th. I'm 26, male, Teaching Assistant from Leeds, UK, making use of the summer holiday and up for having a massively good time! My plans are to see Chang Mai, Laos, Vietnam or Cambodia. I want to do some mountain biking, hill trekking, full moon partying, sight seeing, more partying, motorbike riding and hopefully a bit of beach aswell but I'm slightly concerned it will be rainy! This sounds like a plan but i know it will all go out the window as soon as i get there because I'd rather just take it as it comes and go wherever.
Good to see lots of solo travelers going between July and August if anyone wants to set a date to meet for a drink and share experiences let me know.
