I am flying from Japan to SE Asia in August and am scrambling to find the best place to depart out of (Osaka vs Tokyo) and also where to arrive into (Bangkok)? Is Bangkok the cheapest place to fly into from Japan? It looks like Delta and United are cheapest with Cathay Pacific being next in line for cheap cost. Does anyone have any advice on departure and arrival points as well as recommended airlines?

Cheapest should be from Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok.
