Light weight hiking boots vs trail runner?

    I'll be doing some jungle trekking and Everest base camp while I'm in SEA,
    And I also hike locally. Curious if it's better to go with trail runners or light weight boots?
    Considering boots will offer much more support
    Gortex or no?

    Do u have bad ankles?

    I like extra support cause ive done my ankle a couple of times.

    Another option is to buy ankle straps like they use in.muay thai. Pharmacies sell them or sports shops.
