Laos - sandals/boots for trekking

    Hi,

    I know this subject comes up quite a bit but I just wanted to make sure that I could get advice specific to the area and time of year I'm travelling so apologies for any repetition.

    I'm going to be in Northern Laos for a month from the end of Feb and am planning on doing a fair bit of trekking while I'm there, including the Gibbon experience. I just have no idea what to wear on my feet - should I take boots? Also, do I need to worry about leeches at this time of year?
