I sometimes wonder why there aren't more accidents at sea with the overloading, overcrowding and lack of life jackets, coast guard services etc. The one in Sihanoukville about a year ago didn't get a lot of coverage as, thankfully, there were no fatalities.A local Barang idiot built a platform on a fishing boat to accommodate his booze cruises and not having a keel the boat turned over from the extra weight. Not enough life jackets and a bunch of drunk passengers could have turned into a disaster. Being Cambodia this idiot is still in business so be very wary when you get aboard a boat in this part of the world.

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012 was not a good day for boating in SE Asia.
38 died in a ferry accident in Hong Kong as well as 5 deaths in a small boat accident on Halong Bay, Vietnam
