The Bangkok Post says that 200,000 dust masks have been sent to Chiang Mai to be further distributed to people in areas of the eight Northern provinces with higher than average dust and smoke levels.
Travellers with allergies that might be affected by the annual smoke-fest in Thailand's north might be advised to avoid the area. Others might be advised that their views in the normally scenic province might not be quite up to scratch.
