THAI to leave Don Muang airport

The BangkokPost reports that THAI will move all of its flights from Don Muang airport (Bangkok's old airport) to Suvarnabhumi airport (Bangkok's new airport), starting on March 29, the airline's acting pres, Baribgsaj Sangapong, said on Friday. He admitted the change could be confusing for foreign travellers who have booked the tickets in advance. During the Songkran festival in April, three aircraft would be at the Don Muang airport to serve travellers who may be confused about the change of airport. But afterward, all THAI operations would be shifted to Suvarnabhumi airport, he said.

The story mentioned a press conference to clear up the details, but we're yet to see any news reporting on that. While in the longer term this is a good move as Bangkok moves one step closer to a single airport, in the short term this is only adding to the confusion. If you had planned on a tight connection between a THAI flight and a Nok Air domestic flight, we'd suggest reappraising your plans.
