For those who are even less adept at research than I:

There is a 10$ usd airport departure tax at the Vientaine Airport, there are no atm's in the Lao airport, this first thing you see when you walk off the plane into the Siem Reap visa/entry hall is an ATM that dispenses USD baby, and a taxi into Siem Reap is 5$ usd.

I let the taxi driver talk me into going to the GOLDEN TEMPLE VILLA. Free internet, great rooms for 15$ usd, and solid location. They have rooms for 30$, so it must get even better. My room has a/c, tv, fan, and really cool decor. There overall price range is 8$ to 30$.

It is 20$ for a one day ticket into the temples, plus a 20$ car fee to take you around.
