left it late i know but really would like some advise. flying to bangkok next week, east to siem riep, across to phnom phem and onto hcm city. from hanio west to luang prabang to across to chiang mai. where are the best places for border crossing. im currently trying to speed read a travel book but any imput would be greatly appreciated.

Bangkok to Siem reap: use the Poipet crossing. Detailed here Phnom Penh to HCM: Direct bus between the two, simple as pie. Hanoi to Luang Prabang: Three overland crossings, all time consuming and a tad uncomfortable. They're all detailed in the Visa and border crossing FAQ Luang Prabang to Chiang Mai: detailed here (you'll have to read it backwards) Don't forget you'll need to get your Vn visa in advance (suggest getting it in Phnom Penh) Cheers
