After staying on Phu Quoc Island we want to travel to Phnom Phen and onwards to Siem Reap.
Rather than back track to HCMC (plus saving heaps on an air fare (best I could find was PQ to PP via HCMC was $300 each!) we were thinking of busing from Rach Gai to Chau Doc then the fast boat to Phnom Phen.I am hoping someone can answer my questions on part of the trip
1. Which bus station do I need in Rach Gai? The one closest to the airport or the one in town? and what is the best way from airport to bus station? Are taxis easy to find?
2. How often do the buses run and what are they like? A/C?
3. How long is the trip and is it one bus all the way to Chau Doc? Also are taxis easy to find at Chau Doc bus station to get to a hotel for the night?
I think I am ok once in Chau Doc as booking the boat for the next day seems easy enough through a hotel.
Hope someone can help and thanks

1) I think there are buses from both stations to Chau Doc , but I'm not sure on that. Either way there is xe-om and taxis from the airport. If you're comfortable on a xe om I'd just do that.
2) The buses vary considerably depending on if you end up on a minibus (in theory air-con) or local bus (not air-con)
3) I've not done the trip myself -- would guess six hoursish. Chau Doc bus station into town, will be easy to get transport into town.
Yes, boat onwards from Chau Doc to Phnom Penh is straightforward -- enjoy it as its a pretty trip.
