Can someone tell me the months for low season and high season on Phu Quoc? Also any recommendations for bungalows would be really appreciated. We plan to be there in late May or early June. How is the weather then? Many thanks!

Hi longleat,
For recommendations on where to stay, you're best to start with the guesthouse and resort listings we have here for Phu Quoc.
Season wise, Phu Quoc's wet season is late June/early July to late October/ early November. Late May will be hot hot hot and if you're unlucky you may get some rain in June. That said I was there in the height of wet season this year and the weather was glorious.

Hi, I was wondering if someone could tell me how I can book flights to Phu Quoc Island from Rach Gia. I've been looking everywhere on the internet, and I'm assuming Vietnam Airlines goes there, but their website has been down for weeks!! I've got my accommodation booked already, and plan to get there by 4 December, so is there some other way I can book the flights?
Thanks!!

You can book VN flights on ivivu, but I have not dealth with them directly before, so I am not sure about the quality of their service.

Thanks for that!
Just in case anyone else wants to know about the flights, I looked on the ivivu website and could not find any from Rach Gia to Phu Quoc Island. So I sent them an email asking about it. I got an email back today, and you can book through them.
Flights from Rach Gia to Phu Quoc Island:
Flight # VN485 Wed, Thur, Sun leaves 8.00am arrives 8.40am
Flight # VN482 every other day leaves 09.30am arrives 10.10am
They've quoted me $US20 flight + $US5 booking fee per person.

It is cheaper to buy your VN Airlines tickets from VN Airlines as the agencies mark the prices up now that the carriers are no longer discounting (commissioning) tickets.
Later this month VN Airlines will be issuing e-tickets which you will be able to order on-line.
Ever thought about taking the ferry over there - much more fun - and cheaper, too.
The air schedules to Phu Quoc and Rach Gia have recently been changed but unless you can see the new web site you wouldn't know.

Just letting you all know about what I ended up doing to get to Phu Quoc Island. Was in Cambodia, and then went to Chau Doc and a bus to Rach Gia. From there we caught the boat accross at 1.30pm which cost 160,000d each!! I think it was supposed to be only 130,000d but because we got motorbike taxis there, they wanted a commission from the tickets too. So we waited a few hours and asked around at a few different places, but they all knew who we were and that added 30,000d. Oh well, its only a few dollars.
The boat took about 2.5hrs and then we got the motorbike taxis to Long Beach, for 35,000d each for 25mins ride. We stayed at Beach Club Resort for 7 nights, which was absolutely great!! We would definately recommend Phu Quoc Island and also Beach Club. We will be back again one day soon.
