Hi,
We have around 10 days in North Vietnam before we head south...
My initial plan was to spend:
- 3D/2N in Halong Bay (is is better to book in Hanoi or wait until you reach Halong Bay?)
- 3D/2N in Sapa , we would like to do some trekking to visit minorities village (any recommendations on good guides, etc.)
- 3D/2N in Hanoi, one day possibly to visit the Perfume Pagoda (and the rest to visit the city).
If anyone can please, give me some tips what's best to visit, where to book the HB cruise, and nice trekings in Sapa or any other suggestions that'd be great.
Also, we would like to have some suits done. Is Hoi An the best place to have it done? How much do they cost approx? How long does it take for them to give it to you?
Many thanks for all the help!
Alex

Hi AlexBCN
I think it’s better if your book in advance the HB cruise in Hanoi . You can book the ticket from the tour operator, your hotel or directly book the cruising brands. There are a lot of cruising brands such as Hung Hai Junk , Indochina Sail and Bhaya, Halong Ginger,…
You can go to Halong bay by car/bus from Hanoi(it takes about 3h)
Sapa is an unique natural destination, good place for trekking, you can trek in Ta Van (overnight in local family) , Ban Ho Village, Topas Ecologe at Thanh Kim Village and join the montagnard market such as Coc Ly ( on Wednesday), Bac Ha Market (on Sunday), CanCau Market ( on Saturday).
The only way to Sapa from Hanoi is by overnight train ( departure at 8h30).
Hoi An is the best places if you want to have the suits ( shirts, …) with the high quality, fast and various fabric selection. There are a lot of famous tailor’ shop such us: Yaly couture, Nguyet Thu, Thu Thuy,… and the price is from $300 based on the shop and the fabric.

Hope information can help you.
