Hi everybody,
female, 35 years, Italian...
I will travel to Vietnam for my first time in March.
I will be alone and I'd like to see the Halong Bay (3 days/2 nights).
I'd like to have a good experience, not staying 3 days "beeing the candle" to newly married couples or only reading my books...
Could you give me some comments about cruises companies you used there (prices budget, services quality, cleaning, type of other travellers) but above all some company names you can advise me to contact when I will be in Hanoi?
Thank you very much in advance to everybody for every possible help...
I am sure it will be very helpful!
P.S. Please, do not contact me if you are a tout!!!!!!!!

Hello Vale!

I went to Hanoi 2 years ago and stayed at Hanoi Backpackers Hostel.
Lots of people berate it for being a major backpacker hangout. However, how else are you going to meet fellow travelers if not, err, where they hang out?
Backpackers also organise Halong Bay tours. They're more fun than family/couple oriented, most of the people going will be single so you won't be the odd one out. I really enjoyed the trip.
Buona fortuna,
FSH
PS: being the candle... ho riso per 10 minuti!

Thanks Francesstella and Viacc65 for your suggests.

There are thousands of proposals, and honestly most of them seem... so extrimely "western turist oriented"....
Anyway, I think you understood... I will search for your contact...
Grazie mille!!!

Hi,
There are many different kind of Junk in Halong Bay such Huong Hai, Bai Tho, Paloma, Oriental Sails, Indochina Sails Junk... with the different cost.
If you would like to join a group tour, you should contact with the Junk company directly to get the cheaper cost than booking from your hotel or travel agent.
The most luxury one in Halong bay at the moment are Indochina Sails Junk, Violet, Gingle, Jasmine....
The deluxe one including Huong Hai, Bai Tho, Oriental, An Nam... Junk.
Hope you could find the best one for your Halong bay trip.
Cheers,
