There are two boats daily, the morning boat leaves at 08.00 and the afternoon boat at 13.30.There are normally two boats, occasionally only one,if one is out of service for some reason
There's been a new development in Ha Tien ;There is now a third ferry, which is a huge car ferry much bigger than the previous two boats.I am not sure of the carrying capacity, but it's a lot.I will find out more and post details later. It leaves Ha Tien every morning at 09.30,and takes 2+1/2 hours to make the trip,to the North of the island. There are new terminals in Ha Tien and Phu Quoc to service this boat. The Ha Tien terminal is by the Dong Ho bridge,on the same side as the existing terminal.A single trip is 145,000VND (cheaper than previously) and it costs 100,000VND to take a motorbike. The boat then returns at 14.30,arriving Ha Tien at 17.00.I have been told that once in Phu Quoc,it takes about an hour to get to Duong Dong, there are waiting minbuses that charge 40,000VND for this trip.I shall try it out as soon as possible,as it sounds like a good way to travel, and it's much less likely to be affected by any poor weather
you can contact this person: Mr tam (MR Eight). He is the boss of Boat to Phu Quoc from ha Tien.
