So far the cheapest I have found for this is like $480 through Airasia...had to buy two flights, stopping in Kuala Lampur. i was wondering if anyone knew of anythign cheaper or more direct. The direct flights were ridiculously expensive.

You just have to pick your dates of travel very carefully. Use the ITA Software to find the cheaper days to fly. I found flights from $386. for this route on China Southern Airlines.
(just google for the ITA URL, and use the one-way calendar option)
You might also check other airports in Japan besides Narita.

Direct flights then to Hanoi on orbitz for under 400, better jump on it!
