One experience I've always wanted to have is to walk in a bamboo forest. Not a place with a big path, but wild bamboo. Does anyone know of any relatively safe areas that I could do this?
I wouldn't recommend doing that in large parts of Cambodia and Laos because of the UXO. If you dip into Yunnan Province China, Xishuanbanna Prefecture you can arrange for multi-day hikes into old forest and some bamboo areas with a guide in Jinhong city.

I ave one word for you: snakes. Snakes dig on bamboo stands for habitat. So a path is not such a bad thing.
