Dear all,
I'm trying to plan a classic Vietnam trip from tail to head (Saigon to Hanoi). Am wondering if it is possible to get to Halong Bay for a 2D/1N trip from Hoi-Ann or Hue without having to stopover at Hanoi?
Not by flight though, it's a budget trip. And I am not too sure if the Open Bus Tour will allow that.
Having a headache looking at the itinerary right now. So little time, yet so many places to visit.
You'll almost certainly have to go through Hanoi, as even if you plan on organising the trip from ha Long City rather than Hanoi you'll still need to pass through there as it is the transport hub for the north. Plus there's a million and one agencies in hanoi offering Ha Long tours, so you may get a better deal there than in Hue or Hoi An.
