Hi all,
I am really worried as I have made a very silly mistake. we arrive on9/9 and depart 9/10. in total this is 31 days and not 30. I was going to do VOA but am now getting worried. What can you guys advise.
Thank you

The visa's for a month, not 30 days, but that's immaterial in your case as September is only 30 days. I don't think you'll have a problem getting in with a VOA but getting out is the problem: I don't really know the real implications of leaving a day after your visa expires (I've heard various report) but if you want to be safe you'll need to extend your visa once you're here. Unfortunately that's really expensive at the moment but might be OK by the time you arrive. Sorry I can't give more definite information.
There is no problem of overstaying by two days. They will not charge for that. You may get some will try saying big problem. Just state There is no problem overstay for 2 days.
If you stay longer it was $5 a day though i think it is $10 now.
I overstayed 10 days a couple of years ago and went overland into Cambodia.
They said to go back to Saigon, I replied i had paid before, later thinking oops might of been a different country.
I said no problems and paid the $5 per day at that time.
Please check all details on the visa letter authority: full name, gender, date of birth, passport number, nationality, date of issue and expiry of passport. If all information is correct, you get visa at the airport ( in Hanoi or Saigon) easily without problem
cheers

If arriving from Cambodia across land. What is the best Visa purchase option. Someone in a different thread metioned buying it in Phnom Pen. Does that make sesne where abouts in Phnom Penh would i buy a visa for vietnam ?
The Sihanoukville Vietnam embassy is brilliant, fast turn around and the people are really nice.
If you decide to phone the boss and tell him you have quit, it is easy to get visa extension within Vietnam. All travel agents do them, though always check several agents.
Vietnam visa can be tourist visa or business visa (nothing required to get business visa, to work you require a work permit that is different again)
1 month visa / 3 sometimes 6 sometimes 12 month. Within still restricted to 3 months max but can be extended 3 more times then on to 1 month 4 times.
