Hello,
I'm about to venture into Vietnam from Cambodia
I want to cross from Ha Tien to Phu Quoc then from PQ to the Vietnamese mainland
Is this possible? The locals seem unsure, saying 'PQ to the mainland maybe a local crossing'
I need to be certain before heading onwards
Any help would be great!
Cheers,

I'm not quite sure what you mean,as Ha Tien IS on the Vietnamese mainland. You cannot take a boat directly to Phu Quoc from Cambodia, but must enter Vietnam first, and Ha Tien is in Vietnam, close to the Cambodian border. From here you can get a ferry to Phu Quoc-there is a choice of 3 ferries daily. From Phu Quoc, you can either return to Ha Tien,go to Rach Gia (the other port serving Phu Quoc) or fly to Can Tho or Saigon
