Hello!
Has anyone recently done the trip from the Mekong Delta (Can Tho?) to PhnomPenh by speed boat???
Does this trip even exist?
I have read that Cawaco 01 can do it for $45...but seems to depart only onThursday??
I don't want to spend the night in Chau Doc (except if it is really worse it?).
Thank you for your help!!!!!

Hi, I know that there is a tour from HCMC to Mekong Delta (2-3days), then slow boat/fast boat to Phnom Penh, the total price is from 45-62$. You can search to find the tour agent so they can give you the advice and the rate.

From Can Tho, you cannot take speed baot to Phnom Penh. The best way is at Chau Doc. This means that there is a trip 3 days to Mekong delta and end trip in Chau Doc

Travel independently is the best way to see more things unless you are traveling with a bigger group. Definitely you will have to stay in Chau Doc if you plan to travel by boat, or else you might have to leave in the midnight from Can Tho to Chau Doc then you could catch an early boat to Phnom Penh.
While mekong delta is worth a visit if you want to see the livelihood of the vietnamese especially on the floating market. Stay at Nam Mon The Boutique Hotel, the hotel is further away from the riverfront but is nearer to the floating market. The staff are nice and accomodating, speaks good english and caters to the budget travelers. Was there for 3 nights and for travelers, better to stay there than in the riverfront in Can Tho. Beware of boat tour seller like Mr. Triet and Ms. Ha, boat tour to the floating market usually cost around 40-50$ for 2 person and covers close to 7 hours. And shorter tour will cover close to 4 hours, note that these are personalised tours with an english guide. And better to go with an english guides to know more about the markets. The hotel which I mentioned cater tours to the budget travelers too at affordable rates. Do check them out. Lastly enjoy your time in Vietnam.
