hallo, we r planning to arrive on sunday to lao cai- the market is on one hand and the hotel in sapa is on the other hand. we would like to go straight to the market, but we dont what to bother with our bags all day/ any idea? i have an offer to pay 100$ for a guide all day- is it too much? any other options?

You don't really need a guide if your objective is just the BH Market and then on to Sapa . As to where to put bags, there is no good solution - that's why it's better to go to your Sapa hotel first, and then to BH.
Seems to me that's awfully early to go to BH anyway - trains arrive before dawn! Just buy a tour from your hotel once you arrive in Sapa.
