have a strange illness and not returning to the uk for a few weeks - wondering if anyone can recommend a good (inexpensive) english speaking doctor/hospital in HCMC (also address, opening times etc.)

First of all foreign health services are NOT cheap in VN.
However, you can get very good care at the hospital located in District 5 HCMC. There are also very adequate first line clinics available at low cost where VN people go.
Only challenge is finding one speaking English.
The hospital has English speaking staff - and you will have to pay.
Ask your accommodation / hotel for advice.

Vietnam Family Medical Practice (08 822 7848) is good and has both Viet and international doctors, not sure it's so cheap, but then this is your health we're talking about!
