    In the infinite wisdom of local tourist authorities there is now a $6 charge to walk into Hoi An. full story here.

    That is right! To walk into Hoi An ancient town, tourists will have to pay for the entrance fee which costs 6 USD/pax

    What gets my goat is that you are expected to pay the $6 fee - only to walk in to the area and get non-stop hassled to spend more money in all the shops. So now you gotta pay for the privilege of spending more money (if you're there for the shopping, that is).

    A $6.00 fee, A $6.00 fee and your goat is UP!! You spend so much travelling the world and your goat gets up and winges about a $6.00 fee to see some true Vietnamese history. You probably spill that much having a night out on Lovely Saigon Green. DEEP POCKETS EH!

    I was in Hoi An in early March '15 and no one asked me to pay a Dong!
