Is there much to do outside of Hanoi city? What are some suggestions? Even if it means taking a day bus trip to get somewhere else.

Hi Sunny5049,
We're currently expanding our coverage of stuff around Hanoi, places that we list on the site that may be interesting, include:
Mai Chau
Tam Dao hill station
There's a lot of other places, including Perfume Pagoda, Tam Coc and Cuc Phuong National Park -- none of which are listed on the site at the moment... but are covered in most guidebooks and are all easily reached from Hanoi.
