HI,
Any recommendations for hotels in Hue and Hoi An.
We are looking to book online as we plan to be there in the week prior to Xmas
Not doing a budget trip but about $20 Aus is our level.
Love to hear of any places that are friendly and nice.

In Hoi An you will be very happy with the accommodation at:
/-------------------------
Nhi Nhi Hotel
60 Hung Vuong
Hoi An, Quang Nam
Tel: 0510-916-718
Fax: 0510-916-718

-------------------------/
It is a classical Chinese design hotel and has a pool necessary as the only water in town is polluted with sewage. The hotel is about 5 minutes from the Ancient Town. Also satellite TV, air-con, etc.
If you go to Cua Dai beach be aware of the whirlpools (that routinely cause drownings) and the parking scam by a gang dressed in olive green and waiving a red and white stick - they just want your parking business and are completely unofficial.
There are two buses each day between Hoi An and Hue (a 3-hour trip) leaving at 08.00H and 12.00H. SINH is the most reliable and the safest OpenTour operator - Camel, Hanh Cafe and Vung Thang buses unsafe at any speed.
In Hue I recommend the:
/-------------------------
Nguyen Tri Phuong Hotel
56 Nguyen Tri Phuong
Hue-Centre, TTH
Tel: 054-829-282
Fax: 054-849-482
E-m: NguyenTriPhuongHotel@yahoo.com
GPS: 16N27.97 / 107E35.64
-------------------------/
It is located very centrally right amongst the OpenTour bus offices. Cable TV, air-con, etc. It is about a 15-minute walk from the Citadel.
Both are well within your budget (neither includes breakfast).
