Are you sure you are looking for the Mango HOTEL or Mango BAY Hotel.

There are, naturally, Xe Om's available, amongst other options.

Did you check this web sites < http://www.travelfish.org/transport/vietnam/mekong_delta/kien_giang/phu_quoc_island/all >. There are also hotel descriptions at < www.travelfish.org/accommodation/vietnam/mekong_delta/kien_giang/phu_quoc_island/all >.

Remember, on-line res web sites such as All-Asia Rooms, allow hotels to self-describe their properties and many have more vivid imaginations than a house sales person!

Additionally, the more dishonest hotels even post as if they were guests and promote their properties with wildly exaggerated claims - such as the Eden / Lucky Planet in Ha Noi.

NONE of the res systems are 100% reliable as they cannot guarantee a room will be waiting! The 'deposit' you pay is money in the pocket of the web site and hotels will often prefer a cash customer at the door which pays more.

Reservations to hotels are sent by e-mail, which are unreliable, and can result in no room waiting for you.

I have searched 7 databases for the MANGO HOTEL and have drawn a blank.

This usually means that the hotel has adopted a Western name and uses a Vietnamese name for it's VAT and official tourism business. This is common practice.

The ONLY MANGO is Mango Bay Resort, Bai Bien Ong (Bay). The telephone number is +84-(0)-77-398-1693
Web site: mangobayphuquoc.com; E-mail: mangobay@hcm.vnn.vn.

I suggest you send an e-mail to them and ask them whether or not they are what you are looking for and, IF NOT, could they give you contact info for Mango Hotel.

The motorcycle taxis will only cost you a dollar or two but as you don't have the exact address ...

One tip. Travel to / from the island is VERY dependent upon whether conditions. If you are visiting HCMC or any other part of the south, I suggest you do Phu Quoc first and then return to the mainland and complete your visit. This is better than being stranded on the island watching your departure time come and go.

Do NOT use fishing boats as a means of transportation there - they have a history of sinking, one lost 27 souls.
