Hi all,
I suppose this has been covered before but tips please for what I can wear without offending locals. I really prefer shorts , t- shirt (with collar) and thongs or sandals. Can anybody help please? Of course this is only for internal travel ,
I know the advise regards entry and exit.

The clothing you mention is fine -- I wouldn't expect any problems.

The locals dress in a wide variety of clothing, much of the womens is tastefully revealing!
You must dress more formerly when visiting pagodas / temples and Uncle Ho's mausoleum. Just as you would when visiting a church back home.
Exposed midrifts are not appreciated, except on the beach. You will see few bikinis on the beaches in VN (worn by the VN).
