There's a free one in Sapa, and they even serve you tea. Opposite the park and church, and close to the elementary school is a tourist information center that has very nice DSL, flat screen pc's that are free. I pluged in my card reader and had no trouble at all uploading pics to my blog there. They are very accommodating and shortly after you sit down they come along with the cuppa.

are they as prolific in Sapa as they are in the major cities?
Will I be able to upload photos or burn to CD?
Or should I plan on bringing a laptop?

Lao Cai Province, where Sa Pa is located, is the test site for the forst WiMax broadband system in VietNam.
A new cafe has opened recently, sponsored by the province to encourage ethnic locals to use the InterNet.
