hi,
can any 1 recommend on a good travelling way from hanoi airport to the old quarter. im plannin trip 2 hanoi, halong bay n sapa. any advise?

HAN is not one of my favorite airports - very poor signs there. I recommend you do one of 2 things:
1 - take the Vietnam Airlines minibus downtown (about $2.) and you can walk from there to the Old Quarter
2 - Have your hotel meet you at the airport ($14.-$20.)
the taxi situation there is confusing and you could easily pay a small fortune to get downtown
