So i will be staying 3 nights in Hanoi mid jan, and I am trying to figure out what the best location would be. I have read great reviews of Duc Thai hotel, but I have also read it is a bit out of the way?
I was wondering if anyone knew enough about either to recommend one over the other, or perhaps even a third option I may have overlooked.

I highly recommend Pacific hotel to anyone traveling to Hanoi. Room was quiet and very clean as are the bathrooms/toilets

You should try Golden Lotus Hotel. I think it is a nice one for a stay, it's in the old quarter so very easy to walk arround.
Or other like Phoenix Hotel, The Ritz hotel is nice too.
