I'm travelling for two weeks over Christmas and New years to Vietnam and wasn't sure where we should be for New Years eve itself. Is Halong Bay a good place to be?

Hi, I spent new years in Halong Bay in 2002, not much was going on really, the weather was cold and rainy. There is a bar at the end of the main road that is run by an Australian or Kiwi guy that seemed to be the place to be, sorry cant reacall the name. If I had my choice again I would have gone elsewhere. Hanoi is always good fun!
Cheers,
T

Hi,
If you love somewhere quite for your New year Eve, can choose Halong Bay with the night on board. It's really romantic. You can open your champaign with others and talk about wishes for new year with them.
Otherwhile, stay in Hanoi for the real New year activities. There are so much more funs in Hanoi in New year time. Many kinds of shows...
Take your choice.

Thanks for the advice! I think I'm going to do the suggested route that's listed on this website.
