hey,
i am looking for a destination in vietnam which is quite easy accessable from shanghai. my thin research results want me to go to quan lan and the surrounding islands.
i love small huts directly on the beach. only a few other tourists. nice travellers. yes. nice water and a place where one can adjust to the qualities of the restaurant without too much difficulty.
who can recommend me a place to stay on quan lan? or on the surrounding island? who can provide me with information about these kinds of destinations in the north of vietnam?

Hi Jan ! You have 2 options: Quan Lan island and Van Don Island. Both have nice stilt-house style accommodation at reasonable prices with good food. No need to book beforehand. Quan Lan has the better beach. Don't go there later than october though. November might be okay but the water cools off considerably due to the winter monsoon coming from China. Co To island is also nice but no good places to stay as yet.
