Hi,
Has anyone ever tried to enter Vietnam a day earlier than the Visa? I am currently in Luang Prabang and want to try to go to Hanoi a day earlier than originally planned. Will they make me get a new Visa or is there a way to just move it forward a day? I am a U.S. citizen.

Hello,
I just solved my own problem. I found the Vietnam Consulate, which was open in spite of the Lao New Year. I begged and pleaded a good bit but finally they agreed to move both of our visas earlier one day at no charge. This is after several Lao travel agents told us it was impossible and that besides, the Vietnam Consulate wouldn't be open today.
So my first impression of Vietnam is very positive.
