we have a few hours to waste in hcmc airport waiting for a connecting flight to nha trang. are the shops, cafes, toilets etc cool. also will we be able to purchase a local sim card in the airport.

The domestic terminal has it all (I don't think there are computer terminals there). Near Gate #6 is the wonderful Foot Spa for the best foot massage you've ever had. I paid 130,000VND in 2008. Ton Son Nhat is a very modern and clean terminal - best in Vietnam. Cafes are on the expensive side.

i saw your link on tripadvisor which got me on to this site.
have you seen an outlet that sells local sim cards in the domestic terminal.

Sim cards - no, I saw none. The majority of the shops there are quite upscale and not representative of what you'll find in town at all.
