Seriously guys, the price is quite negotiable. We have 2 days till we leave the country. If you're interested at all, make us an offer.

Also if you have any tips on other places to sell etc, whether its a mechanic or whatever - let me know, that would be great.

    Cheers,

    Matt

    Matt

I first saw your ad and went "I wish I could buy... but I'm not in VN".

Saw an advert to buy - go to:

    http://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/thread.jspa?threadID=1790494&tstart=0

    For the others, go to

Maybe if you see post #8 here as a possible place to sell.

    Cheers

    Thanks Bruce,

The links are proving to be quite a good start. We are chasing several leads, but slowly running out of time...

I'll let you know how it all goes - I have a feeling that some lucky mechanic will be getting some very cheap Minsk motorcycles...

    Cheers,

    Matt

Just to enlighten you all, Kevin did not buy any motorbikes from me. We sold all 3 to separate people, going different directions. Kevin may have bought 3 Minsk's from somewhere else - but definitely not from me.

Having said that, I would take everything Kevin says with a pinch of salt.

    Cheers,

    Matt

Want to travel vietnam by bike? Minsk + Sym 110cc for sale

    Hello,

We drove through Vietnam by Minsk en 110 CC Sym scooter, which we unfortunatly must sell because we will travel by boat to Cambodja.
The Minsk and scooter are in really good shape, which gave us a lot of fun during our 4 weeks trip through Vietnam, from Hanoi to Saigon.

    Minsk:
The Minsk includes ownershipspapers, a newly bought full integral helmet (luckily not used :)), spare-parts (innertube, sparkplug and electrical box), baggage-racks, the ever so important minsk-manual and a lock. The Minsk is in really good shape.

    Sym Scooter:
The Sym is a very reliable 110 CC scooter. We had no problems at all during our journey from Hanoi to Saigon. The Sym is
strong enough to conquer everything the central highlands throws at you(with remarkable ease actually). The Sym will come with full integrated helmet, routebook, spanners and ownership papers.

All in all it is quite a complete package for two people who want to travel vietnam by bike.

If you're interested you can find both the bikes in front of the Orient Hotel (274 Duong de Tham, it's in the LP). You can also send me an email at jsrvanderkroft@gmail.com or call me at 0084-1673115450

If you are interested we can sent you pictures.

Hi! Two Aussies here in Vietnam for 2 months, spent the last month riding from hanoi up to sapa and down to HCMC!! Best thing I have done in my life, hard yet so so rewarding. We now have two bikes for sale in Saigon (HCMC) Honda Win Copy (CM 110cc) and a Honda GL luxury sport.

I brought the Honda Win Copy (VCM 110cc)with only 1200kms on the clock so it was not even run in and for the next 2000 kms I thought the bike had a top speed of 70 in 4th. I spoke to a mechanic and he told me it will do 95! So i have babied the engine unwittingly. It has been run in very well as a result and with only 5030 kms on the clock the bike is still very shiney and needs no work done at all and I have needed to do nothing to it unlike the minsk i brought and later had to abandon. ELECTRIC Start is a huge bonus as anyone who has done a long stop start trip will attest. The headlight is very bright and I have riden at night quite happily, despite the warnings. Doing a trip like this will see you doing some night driving even if unwillingly so get a good light.
I want 450 US as it is still as new and I have cared for it with love. I was offered used bikes like mine for 600 by locals in Hanoi! I went cheap brought a Minsk for 295 and it was money down the drain plus constant delays at Mechanic shops. Cost 350 by the time it died. Sorry Minsk lovers but I had a bad time. The Vietnamese hate the minsk in the cities as they are noisey tractor like 2 strokes and blow so much smoke you will see in your rear views people holding their mouths and glaring at you if you care to look. I would go as far as to say they are offensive to the locals other than in very remote places where you see locals riding them occasionally.
The Honda is not in the same condition as it has done 58,000 kms but it is 50cc more powerful and brakes very well. Kickstart and the headlight is acceptable but not great. It looks tired but it is a strong genuine honda and that is very important. Asking price is 350 or nearest offer. I have heaps of great pics of the bikes over the course of our trip and am proud to email them to you on request.
    Contact me (Sam) on 0120 304 3353 or Glen on 0166 942 1690
They are local numbers so not expensive.
I don't want to start a war with minsk lovers I know they are legion so please don't take offense with my personal opinions.
You can also contact us on SamandGlen@gmail.com but ph contact is much preferred.

    Hey,

i´m in Saigon only on 12. and 13. July and will sell my MINSK. It´s in really good condition and took me from Hanoi to Nha Trang without any trouble yet. It comes with a lot of tools and repairing parts like a second electric box, tube, clutch, bowden cable etc like a chain and a lock.... I did a full service at Mr. Cuong (Doc Minsk) in Hanoi for 1000000 VND 2,5 weeks ago!
250 USD would be fine, it´s also possible to pay in Euro.
Just contact me via vietnam moblie or mail:
