Hi all, we will have about a week in Hoi An in late December. The weather that time of year can be very variable as I understand it. Anyone have any experience in "must see" or "must experience", either that can be done as a day trip or overnighter from Hoi Ann?

I would go to My Son, an old Cham temple complex. You can do a tour which goes out on a bus and comes back by river, which I really enjoyed. I also really liked the Red Bridge cooking class which also takes you down the river. (book through Scout cafe) Another time I just got their boat down river to the restaurant for lunch and then spent some time walking around the local villages. They also have a swimming pool which I was told was available to customers. While December is still the wet season, I think you'd be unlucky to have a day where it rained all the time. There are also quite a few bookshops in Hoi An and some pretty flash places to eat.

Thank you very much Violets .... I am sorry it has taken me so long to respond, I missed the posting when it was listed. I will tuck your suggestions into my guide book.
